This antique brooch is crafted of polished and patinated yellow gold, set with sparkling diamonds in a scrolling ribbon motif with its centerpiece flower crafted of Mississippi pearls and diamonds, truly stunning! Until the turn of the century major rivers, especially the Mississippi, were filled with pearl-producing mussels and clams. The pearls were often used in jewelry, particularly the ornate lavaliers and brooches of the early 1900's Belle Époque era. These historical pieces are becoming quite rare, as buyers recognize the value of something straight from the earth which can not be reproduced.

Love this piece, but want to make it more versatile? We here at Market Square Jewelers, along with our master metalsmiths can convert this fantastic brooch into a necklace or pendant for an additional fee. Please contact us for more information!
